Our self-rescue course was designed to be an introduction to essential technical tools and skills needed to problem solve on the fly and conduct a self-rescue.

Topics include:

Risk Management, and Incident Prevention and Preparation

Equipment Selection and Use

Haul Systems

Belay Transfer and Escape

Descending and Ascending a rope

Hauling a climber from below and above

Passing a knot

Bailing from a climb

Scenario practice with qualified supervision

Students in this course should have a solid understanding of all of the topics covered in our Advanced Top Rope course. It is also recommended that students pursue a wilderness medicine course (topics not covered in this course).

We are happy to spend a few minutes on the phone discussing if this course is right for you.
